2022 Americana Workshop
Our first Americana workshop for kids was a huge success.
Eight children participated in learning our flag’s history, writing letters to active troops, to learning about our five freedoms and how to be a good citizen.
Each child wrote on colored loops their name and an affirmation that became their special American flag.
Each participant added the finishing touch by placing stars on the union. Their favorite station was to design their very own American flag T-shirt.
I couldn’t have done this program without the help of the following volunteers that helped set up/ man the 6 stations, Food prep & clean up: Kory Marvasti, Linda Damon, Andrew & Cheryl Dean, Patti & Roger Spencer, Dianne Marvin, Bea Nerbonne, Jennifer, Aaron, Jera & Ava Alibrio, Dave Svalestad, Holly June & Jake Jacobs, Gerry Gallo, Lisa Berthiamume, Lee Lemire and Kim & Jeff Jones.
A special thanks to Thrivent Financial and their action grant that covered the cost of most of the art supplies and food purchased.
