A Day in the Park - 2024 Recap
This year’s Day in the Park was on Saturday, May 11 at Charter Oak Park with more than 30 volunteers making this day special for over 40 children who participated in most, if not all, of the events.
Our Bike Rodeo saw kids from ages 2-12 ride our obstacle course, have their bikes checked out, and, for those in need, obtain new helmets. And a drawing was held for new bikes that had been donated for this event.
Our Americanism Committee was on hand with some crafts and coloring for all age groups to enjoy, and even adults joined in the action.
The Hoop Shoot and Soccer Shoot had a record number of participants, and the Drug Awareness Trailer had kids lining up to receive some literature and some trinkets to take home and to say “hi” to Elroy the Elk.
T-shirts were given to the participants and our Police Department was on hand to check car seats to ensure they were properly installed. All and all, the day was a great success.
We are so fortunate to have hard-working volunteers who come out when there is a need, and that is why we have such successful events. Thanks to all and look forward to the next event!
